true about wipers?
I'm bringing the car in for service B on wed, finally after almost a year :p
Anywho, the wipers have been chattering and it's very annoying. I asked the service advisor and he said that when wipers are worn down or in need of replacement, they will chatter like that? Is that true?
also, are wiper blades included in the service B? He told me that they will replace the wiper blades as well in the service...better be under warranty as the service is.

Well as far as them chattering. It seems like once the S class is worn in, they seem to get very noisey. On a trip in a S500 once we had heavy downpours, and the wipers drove me nuts, they didnt go fast enough in the heavy, and went too fast in the sprinkles. It was enough to make you scream at the car. It seems like the s and e classes both have this problem. Some say it can be the wax build up on the windshield if you run it throught the car wash. I have heard to put more tension on the windshield etc etc. I dont think there is a permanent fix. You could try rain ex on the glass. Pour vinager (spelling), ammonia. Those are a few I have heard. Good luck

Yea, even when it's sprinkling outside, the autosense wipers go nuts. It just goes when it feels like it and it can be continuous, to the point where i have to shut it off cuz it's wiping at nothing.
I'll see if the replacement blades fix the prob...if not, i'm going back to the dealer. But when i had it fixed the first time, they replaced the blade and that fixed it. So it could be as time goes on and they're worn in...

That might be. That is unacceptable on a benz though. My chevys dont even chatter. Even when we run them through the car washes.

Has anyone noticed that on the drivers side wiper you cant even pull the arm up all the way, say when your cleaning the winshield, you have to hold it up, cause the hood gets in the way. Thats a pretty bad design flaw. It drives me nuts, sometimes I just turn the car on turn the wipers on and shut the car off once they move up, its the only way to get the wiper to stay out.

The wipers are NOT part of the B service if the car is a 2003 model. Only replaced as part of the B service if it is a 2000 to 2002.
Wiper blades are covered for 48 mos/50K ONLY for defects in materials or workmanship. Not for wear or hardening from the sun
or chattering or noises......
Wiper inserts on the earlier style blades were only covered for 12 mos/12K for the same defects as blades.
This pertains to USA cars. Good luck! Unless your dealer wants to DSA them, you have to pay..... warranty won't.

Yeah, it is pretty neat. It retracts when at the top and extends at the sides. If you look at a W124 or W210 E class wiper when going fast, it looks neat. But I think it goes slower than most wipers.

I have in the past bought a 28" blade for the driver side, and a 26" blade for the passenger - since 27" blades are hard to find.
Last week I bought a set of TRICO blades, similar in appearance to the Aero Twins - they were awful. They were flimsy and did not make good contact with the glass, leaving unswept areas. When I tried to bend them for better contact, they came apart. The Rain-X blades look sturdier, but I do not like the look of the mount; it is not as nice as the OE.
I came across this site, selling Bosch Aero Twins at a reasonable price: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/se...ercedes%20Benz. These blades are supposedly the OE blades, packaged differently. The site offers styles for older models as well. Best part: Two blades are significantly less than dealer prices.
Also, the site offers a pair of Bosch Aero Twin blade inserts at a very reasonable price. I also came across a video on replacing the inserts, at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eE1ITsXohnM.
And, in addition, my dealership has lowered its price to $66 for a blade replacement set.
