These photo's were taken from the German magazine publication "Auto Bild" one of the premier car magazine's in Germany - much debate is circulating on this thread about the authenticity of these photo's? Please note that when this magazine publishes any photo's of any "soon to be German car" it usually is pretty dead on with it's reporting.
Have a look at the below site and click on anything that says SLK or ML - where they also are showing new designs of both those vehicles due out later this year - let us all take note and track their reporting to see how good their resources are.

Im not disappointed with the rear end.

I like the rear more than the front; the headlights looks exactly like those on the new Civic.

I hope it's a photochop.

It definently is a photochop. It has E320 wheels. I thin thats probably where its derived from. I havent seen this new civic yet though. Once I see it, that might change my mind completely.

Pssh I dont know what I was sayin, I meant to say I am not disappointed with the front end. The back aint bad either. Not very classy though like the current model.

The back actually makes it look like a luxury sedan.

woah do you mean on the above photo or the current model. I think it detracts from the luxury sedan look, if your talkin about the above photo.

The W221 photo, the back makes it look like a large sedan (Maybach) while the front makes it look small b/c it reminds me of the Civic.

I don't believe those are official pictures. When I see officials pics on the Mercedes-Benz main page, I will believe, otherwise :p

ok i gotcha now. I like the way the current tailamps sweep towards the front.

i like it, but note they arent "official" until Benz releases "official" photos or debuts the production car at an autoshow. ive seen simialar pictures but the headlights were large ovals rather than the more streamlined ones pictured there. though it does appear the interior is going to take after the current BMW 7.

i think the new headlights look more link an accord coupe than a civic

I like the front, but the rear is a little disappointing. I was hoping for something subtle like the Bentley. Is it just me or does this car looks like it fits the E class chassis?

I think its just photo chopped off the e class.

The shape of the dash and all is already stickin to me. I kinda like the shape now. But not the column shifter.

The fender flares are not flattering. Kinda detracts from the luxury look... looks out of place. Otherwise, an evolutionary shape. I'll wait for the official photos.
