I just recently bought 2004 s430 for cheap because my friend thinks that somethings wrong with the transmission. I checked for the codes and got p0730. First thing I wanted to check was the fluid level but when I went to look for the transmission filler tube it was no where to be found.my question is it possible that my transmission isn't suppose to have one. I checked all over the engine bay and the passenger tranny side.

It's on the passenger side next to the firewall. If it is not there I would be concerned that it was removed or fell out for some reason exposing contamination, water, and other things to your tranny. I would address the situation ASAP and if your oil pan is open to the elements do a complete flush of the system and pray for the best.
That's what I thought but I checked for a hole on the tranny. I'm wondering if they put an older tranny on it. I'll try to most pics
That's the tranny dip stick to the left. I was trying to find the hole at one point.

yikes.
guys, a rear wheel drive 2004 w220 has the 7 speed 722.9 transmission and the OP correctly noted that there is no fill tube. This transmission is asinine in that you must fill it from the drain plug (there is a standpipe in the tranny pan). The level is checked by judging the amount of fluid dripping out of the drain plug at operating temp.
The 4matic w220s all came with 722.6 5 speeds that do have filler tubes.

ExploreThanks for the info.so I'm ok with this tranny in my car?
That will remain to be seen. The early 722.9 transmissions were far from "bulletproof". If I were you I'd find an "Indie" with a STAR system and check for transmission servo issues.
This is the 722.9 7g.idk if this is an early type or what. My main goal was trying to fig out how to refill the tranny.
