HEEEELP!!!!!2001 S430 No Start /No Power except dash
Hey MB Users,
quick story I just recently bought this 2001 S430
the guy told me battery was dead and no trunk access. So I jumped the car off with a running ford focus through the passenger panel. I received no result so i finally opened the trunk through this forum and found out there was no battery at all. So I installed the battery today and only the parking lights, dash, and emergency blinker button work. No other buttons or interior car sounds, key wont turn.........I need help I'm over whelmed and feeling dis heartened about it ...but willing to do all steps .....I would greatly appreciate any and all help

There is a major fuse under the passenger carpet and floor panel - there are several discussions of this in the Forum. The first thing to do is to learn to use the search function, so you can find helpful posts.
At the top of the page, you should see a sticky thread that includes the words "...START HERE..." Start there, and read a lot.

If it's not the main fuse, it could be water damage to the SAM or other electronics which is usually not worth chasing down and fixing , or the security components /eis /ecu which need to be replaced as a matched set (key, ignition switch ,ecu, shifter) and cost about $300-400 to buy used on eBay
How much did you pay for the car? You need to consider the costs of throwing parts at it vs just parting it out to recoup your money

I bought the car for $1000 w/164k.....upon checking earlier today alternator was not hooked up i seen wires hanging and grabbed them one hit against the chasis and sparked so i know its getting power...so plan to install it, and tomorrow I plan to replace the 3o fuse block located on the passenger side that connects the main battery to the front car fuse boxes and also the fuse block located in the right corner of the trunk.......to see what results....is there a way to check the main fuse or would i need to put another engine in or something

This sounds as if the previous owner had problems, and had given up on getting it repaired.
It might be worth doing some thorough research to become knowledgeable enough to diagnose and repair the problems. Could be as simple as the main fuse, or could be water damage, or any of several other things.
Folks on here are willing to offer suggestions, but in the end, it will take hands-on knowledge and testing...

went through today and found black cable running from trunk rear fuse block was not connected to positve on battery. also i opened both boxes to see if any damage but didnt see anything burned or out of place.......
1. what does the rear cable power?
2. should i replace all the fuses anyway to be safe?
3.read on earlier post tough to find fuses?
rear trunk box in corner
rear fuse box inside
front fuse box pass panel

If that is corrosion in the photo, there may be lots of problems from water damage.
My first check would be to use an Ohmmeter or multimeter to check the fuses, as has been suggested already. I see no reason to replace anything that is not bad.
Just a comment, with no intention to insult you - The quickest way to turn off any help that you might receive is to keep asking questions without doing anything that is suggested...
