Yes, the headlights have fog lights, however, it is implemented in a different but very cool way. The outermost projectors on the headlights are both your low beams and high beams. The innermost projectors on the headlights are your fog lights. But the very cool thing is that the fog lights act as the high beams (you use the turn signal stock to activate the fog lights) and the high beams act as the fog lights (you pull the headlight switch out to activate the high beams). My high beams are bi-xenon because I upgraded them from the standard halogen bulbs the headlights were shipped with.

The contact points are different on the halogen cars compared to the HID cars. Therefore, you must cut all the wires and directly wire them to the correct positions.

So you lose your flash to pass function? i love the way the lights look, but I'm not wild about the weird set up with the high beams/fogs

All you would need to do is change the wires between the fogs and high beams compared to how he wired it

The flash to pass function still works, it flashes the fog lights. This is actually better since the fog lights don't require as much energy to flash than flashing the bi-xenon high beams. My BMW 745Li has a similar feature, the high beams are bi-xenon but there is a separate halogen bulb that activates just to flash someone; the bi-xenons do not flash. I hope I am making enough sense.

The wiring is correct. If it wasn't, then neither of them would work. They are made like this. You can even see this feature on the SPEC D installation video where they demo the headlights working. It's actually more convenient and doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I agree you want to flash a halogen fog light rather than a Zenon because Zenon take a few seconds to warm up - not good for flashing

The light output is amazing, they even have adjustment screws on the back of the headlights incase the original setting doesn't suit your needs.

That's exactly what they were going for
I'll post a few more pictures later with all the different lights on.

Hi Alex,
Thank you very much for the updates (ps. your car looks AMAZING)

I will soon be getting these for my 2000 S500 with factory HIDs. As I understood from your posts I will need to "manually" wire the 6 pin from these to the 6 pin wire from the car, am I correct?

Also, could please show us some pictures of how you did the wiring (i.e. which wire connects to which pin)?

One last question, is the aftermarket HIDs still working fine (eg. no melting, flickering, ect)? Can I use any 35w HID kit (H6 bulb) with them and H1 LED "bulb?

Once again, thank you so much, for giving me and many others the chance of having a new amazing look for our cars

Sorry for the dumb question, but are these halogen or xenon lights?

Many thanks, Nick

Hi Nick,
As I understood from reading Alex's posts he installed an aftermarket HID (Xenon) kit.
The lights are supplied with STANDARD H6 and H1 Halogen bulbs.

Finally, if you plan on installing an aftermarket HID kit make sure:
  1. They are 35w Not 50w otherwise, the housing will melt
  2. They come with canbus, otherwise, you will get an error on your dashboard (and they may even flicker, or not work entirely)
  3. Your factory Xenon will NOT fit because they are D1S or D2S and possibly are 50w
This is what I understood from Alex's posts, so please wait until Alex answers my questions (above) before buying anything!

Thank you! Almost everyone agrees that the car looks brand new and everyone loves it. And yes, you will have to manually wire the correct wires into the correct areas. I would love to help you out and show you where you need to wire them, but unfortunately I can't because I had someone else do all that work for me because that normally would take way too much time. I suggest you take it to a professional and have them do the job, unless you want to do it on your own and sit through the long, tiring process of having to arrange the wires in the correct spots. It all comes down to preference, but it is definitely worth it at the end
I wish you the best of luck!
