DVD based command system
I read somewhere on this forum where someone stated that the new 2003 S-classes were going to be equiped with a DVD based command system, does anyone know if this is true for other Mercedes models such as the C-class?

most cars tend to use the same type of navigation system ... lowers production costs, so they don't have to manufacture two seperate command systems, and then also in this case either rent or pay for a GP Satellite in space to work hand in hand with the cd based system and dvd based system. although lexus only uses the satellite to tell the exact current position of the car and then relies entirely on the DVD based GPS unit to figure out what road that would put them on and where on the highway they might be and stuff...in that case then it wouldn't cost anymore or different for satellite programming up in space ...
well to cut straight to the question...i don't know, but i'll lean towards yes ... all the systems will get the upgrade

All of North America on 1 DVD disc rahter than broken down over 11 regional CD Roms. More Data storage room also means more detailed maps, more points of interest, more options, etc.
