AIRMATIC!! NEW parts, still no rise! what now?

So I replaced the front 2 struts, new compressor and relay....STILL NO RISE!

Now the warning light says " Airmatic Visit Workshop". Before I replaced everything that warning was not on just the"Car Too Low" one.

2001 S500, airmatic, w220

Idk what else to do before I have to tale it to the stealership. Any advice

Check the valve block at the right front for any leaks.. Hopefully you install reputable brand for the air struts like Arnott or oem... I witness some off brand from Amazon not fill up due the owner being cash strapped but end up getting the arnotts which worked right away... Also if you don't hear the compressor try clearing the fault code...

When you say valve do you mean the one connected to the compressor? They gave us one with the pump but I didn't change it since no one else suggested it. And I can hear the compressor cutting on justno movement in struts. Do you kknow of any way to see where the disconnect is?

I meant The valve block assembly.. It distributes the air to the struts.... You see all the lines coming in.. Do a leak test by run the compressor and spraying soapy water to look for bubbles...

check the level sensor probably just fell off, the sensor is located towards the rear by the axle in-between the axle and the differential

I put the new valve in since it came it anyway and still no luck. Now I don't believe I even hear the pump coming on. Do I need to reprogram anything with the STAR software? Ive seen on the forum where ppl reprogrammed the ECU themselves, is that the same thing?

If you can't hear the pump then it may be the relay but you stated you put in a new one? Is it only the front that won't move up? Try disconnecting the battery negative for a while then start over.

I think you have covered the normal problem areas in the system. See attachment for the system components.

My guess is something very simple but what??

Good Luck,

Bob

The system may have gone into a fail safe mode that it won't take any input until the fault code is cleared.. If you don't have access to a sds try disconnecting the battery as stated above and see if it resets the airmatic control unit..
