engine swap
Hi everyone and happy mothers day. I am new to this forum. I have a 2003 s600 5.5L V12 engine that is lock due to flood. Everything else work but the engine will not turn over just clicking noise from the starter. I took out all the spark plugs and try turn engine manually and still would not turn over. so I was wondering if I can used 6.0L V12 engine block and cylinder heads. can someone help me.

Yes, Nick it was water lock salvage car.
If it doesn't turn over with the plugs out, it isn't water locked, is it?
Is this a salvage project?

Why did you start a second thread?
Nick is right, if it doesn't turn over with no plugs, then there is possibly a different issue. Usually when I pull plugs after an event like this, the engine turns over fine. How long was there water in the engine? The rings could be rusted/seized in the bore if it sat a while...that would definitely mean the engine is ruined. If this was a flood car, perhaps other electronics fried preventing the starter from working? Typically you wouldn't have bent anything badly enough to lock the engine up permanently if it was just water-locked with the starter. But if you drove it into a pond or something with the engine running, that's another story.
