Upgrade to Android Auto or keep the command system
Is it really worth it to keep the command system ? I've been reading and reading and it turns into a cluster Fudge real quick. Ohters have said you cant install another head unit for possible risk or electrical gremlins, wont be able to update the clock on the dash, run the risk of the installer splicing wires and messing up the optical input and wont be able to go back to stock if worst case scenario happens.
Alternative options are to just add a aux input, threads state its like 300 dollars to add a aux input, gps is upgradeable but you might have to upgrade in increments just cant jump into 2016 dvd for the map pack.
or just buy one of these and call it a day ?

or upgrade to one of these chinese various android units which are supposed to be some what plug and play. may need a adapter of some sort.

thoughts and solutions for the year 2016 ? I really like the way the stock unit looks btw

This is a good recent thread on upgrading to the Chinese android units

I would probably do that as its more plug and play , although you seem to need to buy extra cables and antennas to get everything running .
