Would like input. Information. Knowledge.

If I can salvage my crashed clk's amg engine and bring it back to life by installing it on my s430 w220.

My main concern is if this is a plug and play thing. This arrises from the many readings around different forums on the subject matter. Would appreciate knowledgeable input.

The clk is a w209 55 amg 03 chassis and the s class a w220 s430 01'

Yes it's plug and play . Just swap the bare motor itself (heads and block ) and keep all the electronics of the s430 so no sensors change

Your OEM fuel pump on the S430 won't like the massive amount of fuel the 5.4L uses. Other than that, transmission? Maybe.

Those parts (transmission and fuel pump ) are both the same for the 430 and non supercharged 55 Amg cars

Ahh okay, I must have confused the AMG with superchargers. Those have an additional AMG fuel pump. Seems like I should just drop a 5.4L in my S430. Hmmmm

It's surprising to find the transmission is the same in the 430 as the 55 AMG. I see it says they are both 722.6


I drive both and mine behave very differently (both in D). Backing off at speed my 430 will roll to the end of the world, where my 55 will slow considerably and then change down. Surely the electronic control must be a different setup?
