2006 S55 Bluetooth
Hey guys I just got a 2006 S55 and it doesn't have the cradle or connector in the center console. I have read that the 06 may or may not come prewired. The post by Skylaw says to get a VMI from the dealer or look at the 2005 bulletins and check for the wires but the dealer says they can't do a VMI after ten years and the link to the bulletins is no longer working. I need to get Bluetooth going quick for work, can anyone help me out on how I can go about figuring out what I need? I am so disappointed MB decided to downgrade in 2006.

We did this on Renee's 2005 SL55:

It works well. My S55 has the BT OEM and I like that her car does BT audio.

Thanks but I watched the YouTube video and there seems to be quite a few short comings phone wise. Plus the changer gets kicked out of the cool kids club. I think I may attempt to retrofit the phone and satellite systems in the car. It's either that or do a whole system for a few grand. I wouldn't mind doing that except I hate to gut such a clean complete car. Still deciding what to do..

So this is the mhi plugin adapter wire thingy with the bluetooth puck i think some cell phones with no bluetooth had a uhi craddle for the cell phones. anyways i had to replace the wire that goes in the armrest so i tore it all apart which was pretty easy. The only thing im not sure of is if your car is wired for this or not. You can take apart your arm rest and see if you have connections if you do then its a safe bet to say this wire will work for you. Im sure the connections goto the radio and the bluetooth puck does all the hardwork. that wire cost like 100-150 from what i remember maybe even more. Let me know if you need more info. I would tear apart my armrest but its too cold out right now. Maybe if it gets warmer by sunday ill do it.
So this is the wire that i had to buy because this one stopped working ?
