S 600 Sedan does 0 to 60 in 3.3, to 100 in 8.5, 1/4 in 11.59 @120
The S600 is stock, but does have the $$$ costly $$$ AMG upgrade that was available in 2004 and 2005. It includes the AMG suspension, brakes and ECU as part of the options package.
If you think you have ANY car that can beat this 4 door rocket, bring it on. As I mentioned before, I have the 996 TT S Porsche and the Benz is a little quicker in a drag race. Then again, the Porsche only has 1432 miles on her and I am still learning to drive the 6 speed.
The 996 Turbo S is a fast car, no doubt, but as with any stick car, very driver dependent. The new Z06 will leave any stock 996 turbo in the dust...though it may have trouble with the off the line due to the runflat tires limited traction. Once it hooks, both the 996 TTS and S600 will see nothing but 4 round taillights.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
They're cheap, too
in your sig, it says 2001 S600. 2000-2002 S600 are the none turbo ones with 360ish HP. MB claims 5.6 sec for those. Your 0-60 is well below MB's statement. any mods on your 01 S600?
I do know that the car is equipped with all of the AMG options except the engine (brakes, wheels, suspension, ECU, body kit,?,?,?).
I had the dealer take that Silly AMG emblem off the rear of the car before I would purchase.
The Renntech emblem on the back of that awesome SL65 is also SILLY LOOKING. PLEASE REMOVE. .
Who cares how fast the Z06 is if the DRIVER can not apply the HP to the ground in a practical manner. We are not C&D professional drivers turning out world class 0 – 60 times.
On the other hand, the 911 has AWD so no hook up problem there. Just have to shift once to reach 69 MPH and the car will still turn 3.6 second runs.
