My 05 S600 exhaust system mod start !

Hi All,

After I got my S600, I got a pair of 06 S65 AMG muffler and tip from eBay,
I went to a local muffler shop to remove stock S600 muffler and put the S65 AMG muffler with quad tip on. The sound of the new AMG muffler is just a bit louder than stock one, so I remove both resonator and the sound is a bit
louder than AMG muffler, may be is the turbo car. I just order the following parts and try to see what is the difference between open and close the valve ! Will try to install them on this weekend. Video coming soon !

Sound videos are my favorite, don't forget to rap the pedal and give us a good preview!

Exactly what I plan to do. Car is still silent with downpipes on, need to delete resonators and probably add a cutout where the stock crushed x pipe is when that gets replaced.

The difference may be not a lot from the video, but when you listen inside the car, it sounds a lot louder ! Stay tune for road test on street and highway !!

Is there any way to remove that pesky 3000 rpm rev limiter at park and neutral? The exhaust set up I have sounds very close to the N/A s600 f1 exhaust in the higher rpm, but I can't really show that off for anyone because of the rev limiter.

There is a way to bypass it, but it is stupid and dangerous. If you are going more than 10 mph and drop the car in neutral, the rev limiter is disabled and you can rev the engine away till redline and it revs up pretty fast too. It sounds identical to a pagani zonda (Yes and it's the TT V12, I'll post a video if no one believes me)

Video doesn't quite capture the sound very well, it sounds much better in person. However, I haven't yet recorded it with the rev limiter bypass method since I discovered that recently, so I'll record a video revving it up to around 5k rpm in neutral and see if it captures that f1 magic on video (hopefully it does).

My set up is simply just removed everything past the primary cats (resonators and mufflers). It sounds godly at the higher rpms, certainly not a sound you would expect to hear from a limo.

did you run straight pipe behind the primary cats all the way to the rear exhaust tips ? Or is it an electric exhaust cutout ?

Both the resonators and mufflers are simply replaced with 2.5" piping. I was thinking that 3" piping would have been better since it would match with the rest of the exhaust (s600 has 3" piping from the factory), but it doesn't sound bad or drone at all with the 2.5" straight pipes in place of the resonator and muffler, so I'm just going to leave it at that.

Hopefully I'll get some exhaust clips soon

Sounds great. I can definitely hear the difference between before and after the cutout opens. It's more louder and deeper it seems. More vids please!

I've noticed that with the bi-turbos, you will always have a growling note and that turbo whistling. Trying to make it high-pitched will still have those factors. Unless yours somehow is different. Please post vids asap. We're anxiously waiting...

I got some exhaust clips; however, the microphone sadly couldn't properly capture the high pitched tone that well (as I expected). If you have some really good speakers and turn up the volume, you can still notice it. It's just nowhere near as good as if you are actually there in person hearing the car.

I'll upload and post them soon.

The video is ready

Tell me what you guys think. I'm thinking of catless downpipes in the future.

It's loud but I don't hear any of that high rpm F1 sound like the TG sasaki video

If you turn up your volume you hear a hint of it, but it certainly isn't as loud as the japan f1 exhaust. In person it is much more noticeable.
