Designo edition 2005 UK price.

I just wondered if anybody knows how much the designo versions of the W220 (leather dash and alcantara roof lining) cost in the UK in 2005? My car has it, this is just out of interest!!! Cheers.

I have a copy of an old 2004 price list. This is quite complicated.

Exclusive Nappa Leather was standard on the S600, and a £3,510 option on other models, but only when ordered with the following options:

Sunroof, £890
Uupgrade wood trim, £230
Rear window blind, £365
Electric rear seats, £940

Designo couture leather and wood trim was £6,080 option plus the above for most models, o a £2230 option for the S600.

Exclusive means everything is leather trimed, and Designo is an upgrade on that, with special leather, wood and carpets.

Thanks for the info. Mine has the leather dashboard, centre console and door cards with alcantara roof and pillar linings. Being a LWB S500 mine already has sunroof, rear window blind and electric rear seats as standard equipment.
It looks like mine might have exclusive nappa leather rather than the designo coutoure. I also have several other factory options like multi contour massaging front and rear seats, ventilated front and rear seats, Bose sound system, rear DVD screen, ABC suspension and 4 zone climate so I'm more than happy with it!!!

That's a great spec. I've had five W220's, and one of them had a Designo interior. There's a Designo label sewn into the corners of the front car mats.

Cheers mate, I'll check the mats when I go out in it later on. I forgot to mention that it also distronic cruise control, memory for all 4 seats, it has 2 separate rear seats instead of the usual bench and also fully electric opening/closing bootlid. It's done 87k miles with full merc or specialist history and I paid £4795 for it which I think is a bargain, it must've been nearly £100k new!!! The only fault is one of the rear air vents doesn't blow cold air so it might just need an air con recharge or new duo valve but it's not that important right now.
One funny thing I have found is that it has front footwell lights but both bulbs are missing!!! I'm thinking of upgrading all the interior lights to LEDs anyway but I'm really pleased with the car!!!

Two separate rear seats are very rare. They were a £2380 option, and they're very few and far between.

Do you have keyless go, Linguatronic, or side window sun-blinds?

If so, it's starting to sound like you've got ALL the options!

Mine has KG, separate heated/cooled individually reclining rear seats with memory, front passenger seat control for the rear passenger, leather dash, suede headliner, 4 zone CC, rear and side shades, but no designo logos anywhere. should I be excited or disappointed?

What makes you think you've got a Designo interior? If it's the leather dash, that's just exclusive leather, and it's not uncommon. All 65's & 600's have it.

I think they are the only 3 things it doesn't have lol!!! It has the remote control for the stereo/DVD player, TV tuner although that is useless now that analogue transmissions have stopped!!! It also has the fire extinguisher and (unused) first aid kit.
I really like the leather dash and door cards etc, it makes it feel very premium!!! I can't see any evidence of it being a designo anywhere but I'm not bothered by that, I'm more than happy with what I've got!!!
I used to have a Lexus LS400 and an LS430 which were both really, really nice cars but I do now prefer the S-class, it somehow feels more special than the Lexus's did. The car I had before this was a Lexus GS450H which I only had for 3 weeks before it suffered hybrid battery and gearbox failure, I ended up getting a (no quibble) refund from the dealer I bought it from and then I spotted this for sale and I'm glad I did. I could just drive this car all day, it's that nice.
