S Class Double Door Window problem
New Alberta member with a question. 1998 S500 (w220 platform) from Japan. Only 1 issue .... along the full length of the top edge of all 4 door windows, and between the double glass layers, there appears to be about 1/4" to 3/8" of a substance that may be a glue residue. It's not an even colour but it is sort of dark and probably not a film unless it has degraded to the point where it looks more like a glue or an adhesive of some sort that is probably original. With your fingernail, the 2 layers are defined. When the windows are fully up, the windows are perfect. When they are not fully up or fully down, the edge of the glass is obvious and not pretty I'd say. Anyway, I can't find any reference to this issue and am wondering if anyone has experience with it. I'm thinking it will be impossible to remove but would be interested to know what may have caused it. Car is well maintained and low kms. Date of manufacture is Oct 2 1998, 2nd month of production for this W220075 model. Nice car. Very quiet. Thanks

That depends upon whether the measurements are length or thickness.
