Outside air temp sensor

I just about have all the ac gremlins chased out of the car, cabin temp sensors, blower motor, resistor, and everything works manually but the ac diagnosis menu N.02 shows -40.0, it’s 100f outside today. I assume the sensor in the bumper is bad however the temp display on the gauge cluster is also blank. I haven’t found any real information after a couple days searching, ideas? I have a new sensor coming but will that possibly fix the display reading?

A crazy dash reading is usually due to a defective cluster or door control module

Which temp display? If outside temp, the new sensor (or a bad connection repaired) will fix that.
If engine temp, no connection at all to the outside air temp sensor.

it was the outside air temp display on the gauge cluster. I replaced the sensor to no avail still nothing on the gauge cluster and on the a/c control NR.02 still reads -40.0 so we looked at the wiring and nothing obvious. Ideas where to look next?

I would start checking each of the connectors for bent pins and assuring good connection, Physically examine every inch of wire harness that is accessible.

The signal from the temp sensor is either not getting through to the controller or the controller is not reading/acting on the sensor signal. The WIS will lead you through the diagnostic chain and will identify where the signal disappears.

as I says , it’s your instrument cluster or more likely your door control modules (the power seat switches on the door) . Yes it sounds unrelated but they are linked
