" I pull the pump out next to the battery and it looks to be half full and there's some oil underneath it. "
The Pneumatic Service Equipment pump is normally in the forward left corner of the trunk area behind the lining, while the battery is normally in the right rear trunk floor. Could you be talking about the optional trunk hydraulic assist, which is usually in the forward right corner of the trunk behind the lining? If so, that pump does nothing but lift and lower the trunk lid, and has nothing to do with the locking and soft closing.

Do you mean actual power operation, or just locking/unlocking? Two different problems...
If locking/unlocking, try resetting the PSE system. Find the floor light behind the right rear passenger's heels. Pull the entire light housing from the carpeted wall. Find the yellow 20-Amp fuse on the end nearer the center of the car, and pull it out. Make certain that it is not blown, then re

This may seem crazy but I had the same problem plus the 20 amp fuse kept blowing and all I did was put the key in the trunk lock and unlock it in every possible position and I heard the pump come on and it has worked now for 2 weeks with no problem
