S500 Big Brakes?

i own a 2000 s500 with 285/35r20 rear and 245/35r20 front and I am in need of new brakes and instead of just servicing it i wanted to see if i could upgrade them as the tires are fat and heavy. i have been looking into amg brakes but its so hard to find information on 350-400mm brakes that are compatible with my car that i thought id end my 4 hours of research by asking you guys. i dont want to do 6000$ brembos as cool as it would be i bought the car for 2500$ im looking to spend maybe up to 1500 on some neato bigger brakes as i plan to keep the car for a while. along my research i found some cars that have 360mm ish brakes but i have no idea the compatibility of these things. is it as simple as buying a bracket and would i need to grind down areas or would it litterally just slip on like a glove like im hoping for. i also need new wheel spacers and front suspension and a new wheel bearing so im overhauling the whole situation in the front so i figured adding bigger brakes would be cool if i can get them for cheap(er) off maybe a junkyard amg(e55 or s63/65 if they are compatible?). THANKS!

I think that you already have bigger brakes than those found on later W220 models. I have a 2003 S430, and found a 2002 S500 in the local pull-a-part. I discovered that the factory rear brakes were downsized in late 2002. The earlier rear brakes were larger ventilated disks with four-piston calipers, and the later cars had smaller solid disks with single-piston calipers.

Of course, most of the time the desire for bigger brakes is stylin' rather than function, and that may well be the case here.

The USA / Japan S600 turbo has 345mm discs & 4 piston callipers that should be a bit better.

The S55 and CL55 Kompressor have 360mm front discs and 8 piston callipers that will bolt on. Discs and pads are cheap, but callipers expensive.

The S65 and CL65 have even bigger 390mm discs that will fit. Discs are expensive. Same callipers as S55, different mounting brackets. The rear brakes won't fit - the rear offset is much greater.

SL55 and E55 brakes won't fit - different disc height. .
