Hydraulic line interchangeability?

Hello all
I took my car(04 S55) to a mechanic today to investigate a hydraulic fluid leak. He told me that the hose between the pump and socalled pulsation damper is the culprit. However, when I looked up the part number 2203204572, it seems that this item has gone out of production. Here are my questions: can I buy 2203204372, which was used on 01-03 car, instead? What are the differences between these two parts besides that one comes with the damper? Thank you.

It's not out of production, it's been superseded. Use the new part, it's got a better protective jacket on it.

Thanks. Do you happen to know the part number for the new one?

If we're talkin about the u shaped hose that acts as a pulse damper (the hose to nowhere), it's

2203205972

that’s assuming you can remove the hose yourself or have a mechanic willing to take off the used hose and wait while you have a hydraulic shop rebuild the old line using new hose on the original fittings . Most mechanics either can’t wait or won’t work with old parts and require a new part ready to swap in while the car is on their lift
