Pricing on a 2005 S600?

We are looking to trade in our 01 S600 for a new one. Considering it's the last year of the W220, are dealers going below MSRP? I'm in So cal and when I was looking a few months ago, they said MSRP firm. Just wondering what deals other people are getting out there.
Also, it looks like the CL600 has a little better residual. Are there similar discounts on the CL, if any?

Thanks.

You have an 01 S600. You're considering trading in for a newer one but you sound like someone shopping for a Civic. I just got a great deal on a Chevy. I went to a couple of dealers and the one who gave me the best price got my business. It's a proven method. Unfortunately with MB, in most cases, there is only one or two local dealers and your stuck with them, and their pricing, because of service convenience. If someone here tells you they got one for $15,000 under sticker all it's gonna do is probably just make you feel bad.

Expect 6-8k off the MSRP.(Chicago area)
You'll get hurt as much on the CL as on the S.

S600's are pretty firm on the prices and most dealerships stick to MSRP. I know that's how it was when I worked at MBZ of Long Beach.

You're lucky you're in LA. It's a competitive market here. When I bought my E320, I shopped it by e-mail and then by phone and got my best deal at Mercedes-Benz of Long Beach. I've been very happy with them.

Try Internet or Fleet dept.

I was in the Fleet dept, but for a niche car like S600's, the managers usually didn't want them go for less then MSRP, but for other cars like E320's etc, we sold them all for below invoice.

Dude - look for a new 04 in another market and trailer to your dealer. I'll bet you would save a bunch! I did the same with a hard to find color combo on a S 500 and still saved 10K on the sticker. MB has money back on 04's S's however I'm not sure about the 600. Check www.edmunds.com

Thanks, that's a possibility, but do you think they'll release the 600 model at the intro? Last time it was about 2 years after the model came out when the 600 came out. So then, we'd have to wait 2-3 years.

With all the new over 100K Luxury Segement cars out there is no way MB would wait for that long. Too much market share to kiss good bye. Yes it will be and 2nd model year but the release will not be that long like traditional fall to fall releases. Hope this helps and by the way that 01 S600 is still awesome.

Is generally 01 and 05 the same model with minor changes?

The main change was the upgrade from the 362HP V12 in the 01-02s to the 493HP bi-turbo V12 starting 2003. Another big change is the DVD nav with wide screen. I think everything else is fairly minor.

too many to list
here in Ontario Canada there are no deals offered from either corporate or privately owned stores. you might even walk into the store where a 2004 s600 is going for almost as much as the 2005 s600 but this barely happens because if a certain car isnt sold in a corporate store it is usually sent back before the newer models come in i dont know how they do it in the USA but one thing is for certain there are never any deals just because a generation is chaning i used to think the same too back when i was thinking of buying a BMW before the new 7 series came out

Re: Pricing on S600

My dealer told me the new model S Class that we're seeing spy photos of would not be out soon and it will be considered a 2007 when it does arrive. Mercedes is stopping production of the 2005 model in December to gear up for 2006 model in the spring. I also want the new model, but can't wait that long, lease is up in June.
