W220 abc ride height adjustment

Hey, I know some of you have adjusted the ride height with the abc suspension using the star tool. I had my friend who is a mb technician over here in nyc mount and install my new wheels. I asked him to adjust the ride height with the scan tool that have at mercedes before he did an alignment. He told me he tried but every time he restarted the car it would go back up to the original height. Could someone chime in and let me know how it's done? I'm also wondering if the star multiplexer is different than the current mercedes scan tool. Is there a different tool I could ask my friend to use at mercedes to adjust the ride height? I need the height adjusted before he goes and does my alignment. Any info would be great. Thanks

Mercedes
Lowering using the scan tool usually doesn’t stick permanently. USE lowering links or washers

The ride height calibration isn't something you can just do with the scan tool.
It requires an alignment lift and a special thing called a romus or something. A dealer would charge about $400 for the job.
It's also not to be used to lower the ride height.

That said, if it's going back to the original height, what tusables said.

My friend works at helm bros mercedes here in queens. I'm pretty sure they have all the equipment to adjust the ride height. He's pretty new as a mechanic though, so he has never done this before. I think the ride height wouldnt stick because the car was in the highest setting. I will have him give it another go on thursday. Thanks for the link on how to adjust the aromatic suspension. I'll forward it to my friend and have him take a look at it.

BTW he's doing my alignment at mb on Thursday. So they do have an alignment machine which is why I assume they have the tools to adjust the ride height. How does rentech adjust the ride height through the obd2? How is renntech the only company that can adjust ride height and ecu tunes through the obd2? Renntech is the only company that you don't have to send your ecu out to get tuned. They are also the only company that can tune or revert back to stock all through the obd2 port. They must be dabbling in some sort of black magic lol

Well the guy is former Mercedes/AMG but moved to Florida to do his own thing.
Not sure if he has backchannels or just understands the German engineering mentality. Probably both.

How has nobody figured out this obd2 stuff? It's nearly 20 year old technology. I'm alao shocked that companies are still asking over $1100 for a tune. Renntech is still asking $1950 for a tune. It seems like renntech prices never drop. You'd figure priced of tunes would come down along with the prices of the cars. only company that's respectable is kleeman, they're asking $600 for a tune

Mercedes
Renntech is the premier USA tuner they don’t need to discount . They cater to those willing to pay for the best

kleemann is very good but doesn’t have the popularity of renntech in USA , they are more popular in Europe like brabus

all the discount tuners like logic lab , euro charged , speedriven etc steal other tunes and are questionable companies and I wouldn’t give them a dollar
