Buy it!

It should be under warrenty so get the phone fixed. Buy it drive it! You might be able to find one as nice for about the same price maybe a lttle less. But, then you don't know the history of the car. You know everything about yours!!! That is your advantage!.... I would see if they would throw in some extra warrenty.....

i would also recommended that you purchase that car because they are selling for a very reasonable price compared to the mileage which is roughly around 51520KM, you still have warranty on the car till 80 000 Km and thats a good price your gettin for it. you can search a 02 S5 yourself. first of all you will not find one with that little mileage and second for the price so go for it bro all the best

well they are giving you a $4000 discount then why stretch it because it will be hard maybe the max you can get now is another $1000

well you dont have 17" rims right now and if you do then they are not original the 2002 S500s came with 16" with all season tires and if you decide to upgrade to an 18" package with an all season tire your grip and traction would be comparitively alot better because you have a bigger tire which equals to a bigger foot print. as for the phone bro if you wanna upgrade i believe you will also have to chagne the harness and only MB can do that iam not aware of any after market products that are out there.....

Hmm...

As of my knowledge, S-Class comes with 17" standard and only upgrade option available is AMG rims @ 18" (at least in the U.S.).
Some people are downgrading to 16" (so they can put snow tires on).
RE: Phone... MY00-MY02 (maybe even 2003 models) came with integrated phone as standard in the U.S. (correct me if I am wrong).
The only problem with the phone - is that you must use MB branded phones that cost about 8-9 times more than same models without MB software...
Yet mikBox is the solution for that

I am from the same area (NYC/Northern Jersey).

I will do my installation (possibly next weekend).
Also will try to integrate new Motorola V710 (instead of Timeport/v60/v60s).
Will let you know how did it go...

incorrect. All W220 cars w/o sport package came with 7 spoke 16 inch wheels. In 2003 the base rim was upgraded to a 17 inch wheel... the S500 guard came with 17 inch wheels as the only choice in 2001 and 2002. I have seen some regular W220s with the S500 guard wheels... might have been an option.

My '00 430 came with an analog phone that was NOT standard equipment. I upgraded to digital a few months later and MBUSA paid for the labor etc., and I "just" paid $400 for the Motorola Startac handset. My 04 S5 came with the Motorola V60 and I changed carriers shortly after taking delivery. The switch from Cingular to Verizon cost $500 for the handset this time.

MikBox installation uograded StarTac to V710

Gellie, regarding your question on upgrading from the StarTac, I completed my MikBox installation in November '04; it was absolutely simple to do. See the writeup at http://www.benzworld.org/publications/pub.asp?id=317

Although I used a V710 (Verizon's latest Motorola phone), you can use any modern Motorola.

Your 2002 should already have dual band antenna equipment, so you can disregard that portion of the discussion.
