My headlights sometimes flicker, Xenons??
Once in a while my headlights start flickers a split second or 2 , it happens while im drriving on my S500 xenons, 02 model ,, what is that,, is it a short, or is it that the xonons are bad, ???. has anyone else had this happen

i have the exact same problem with my 02 S5 the left headlamp (xenon) flickers sometimes when going over bumps and when not going over bumps and sometimes it turns off comepletey for max 5seconds and turns back on again..its very embarassing and also i get 1 Malfunction Left Low Beam....

i think that they are just dying...happeneded again today the malfunction is ( Low Beam, L ) thats the xenon headlight...its dying i called up MB and they said the same aswell..

What do you mean flicker, When you look at the car coming towards you and the color and intensity changes thats because of the projector the cutoff goes up/down with the road. If its competly going off its a shortage somewhere in the wire which causes the ballast to turn off. Could also be a faulty ballast or capsule.

I changed the bulb and its still flickering..what should I check next..I pulled the back off the light where the power pack for the xenons are..no break in the wire..I hate to take it to MB to get raped..let me know if I can check anything else...thanks

It's probably your ballast that's going bad, xenon bulbs rarely go bad. They just color shift and end up going from blue to a pinkish hue with poor light performance.
The ballast is located underneath the headlight, so the headlight needs to come out for it to be replaced.

Change the bulbs but make sure you change both of them at the same time. Otherwise you will have one light much brighter than the other. The same thing happened to me and after the bulbs were changed no problems.
