New S?

Exactly, which is why you guys shouldn't place much trust in these computer renditioned photos.. Mercedes knows that conservative style is very important in this segment. Audi played it safe and made a beautifully evolved A8, Jaguar didn't make any drastic changes either, but BMW's Chris Bangle came up with a radically designed a 7-series that appealed mostly to people who couldn't afford it.. Don't get your panties in a wad because you can be sure Mercedes won't be make the same mistake BMW did...
Eric...
Not only does it look bad, it also looks boring. When the W220 came out it took maybe a couple of minutes to get used to, it was a drastic change from the W140 yet it looked classy and lines of the car looked well put together.
These photoshops just look awkward and boring. I hope the real new S is nothing like this.

I see that you were born in 1984... Mercedes' demographic target for the S-class are more than double your age and for them the more conservative the better... My parents were long time BMW 7-series drivers since the mid 80s. Their 7-series buying trend ended with the radical Chris Bangled E65 7-series.. Anyways I hope Mercedes maintains the clean flowing lines which give it its elegant shape...

The S-class is going a little more up market than it currently is with the CLS being wedged inbetween it and the E. The CLS is the competition for the 7 not the S. I expect the S-class to look at lot like the autobild chops to fit the current design theme, but to not be too outlandish.
The Same Cars ????
If you look at the Autobild pictures and then look at the Benzworld pictures the cars look very alike, yet very different. The lines in all of the cars look identical, yet the Autobild cars look much nicer, Is it just the quality of the shots ?
obviously, the fronts of w221 from different sources are similar but the rears have different brake light designs.
here are the ones from auto-motor-und-sport (provided by Chickpig)
I think the pictures from this thread (provided by Hans Lehmann) are more reliable.

That rear end is the worse that I ever saw; looks totally like an E class. I would prefer a fat chick with celluloid in a thong over that (kidding). But I hope that is not how the production model would look like from the back atleast, the front I guess just takes some time getting used to just like when the W220's came out.
I actually love it. I think I know what I want to replace my C32 with at the end of my lease.
As an aside, Huckfeldt is usually very very accurate. I'm convinced that at least BMW and MB give him information very early on so they can make adjustments based on public opinion.
