Retrofit OEM Cellphone on 2003 S500?
So, if anybody can help with this I would appreciate it. I have tried searching for this here but didnt find the OEM parts list and instructions for the upgrade (other than mikbox or the NL people who apparantly upgrade the existing OEM system).
Thanks in advance,
Ernesto

Thanks for the list!!
Scorchie sells and installs UHI, Universal Handy Interface equipment - original equipment (OE) in most countries outside the U.S. - that is far more flexible than the U.S. OE Mercedes installations because many more types of phones can be used. The cost is less than half that of new Mercedes OE.
The MikBox is an interface used with OE installations that allows most modern Motorola phones to be used; he is planning to expand the interface to allow use of Nokia and Ericsson phones, but that is still in the future.
If you already have an OE phone installation, the MikBox is the least expensive way to go, though right now you'd be limited to Motorola phones. If you don't already have an OE phone, the UHI costs about the same as buying used equipment and installing it together with the MikBox, and lets you use more phones than the MikBox.
If you search these forums with terms like MikBox, UHI, and the screen names (even just those in this string), you will find a ton of information.
