clk63 will be ridiculous but none the less, fun car to drive. if amg decides to leave it as is, thats 148 hp more! :v probably low 11's or high 10 1/4 mile times and a z06 killer. m6...ha!

What do you hear about the intro of the S450...anything? Dealers have no information and allocations through early May show no S450. Strange also is the fact that the S600 and S450 were to be released in April...the S600 has been announced but nothing about the S450. Could MB be re-thinking and possibly putting a diesel in the car instead of the smaller V8 or will they introduce the SWB again with the diesel?

Thanks

I dont think it will be low 11s car! I predict high 11 low 12s. And i doubt it will touch Z06.

That fits with the w221 coming out Jan and the AMG 2008, sell a few s550's to clients who would like an AMG but are desperate for the new model then hit them again for an AMG 12 months later

Dealer said that that there would be no turbo or supercharged AMG model, only the 6.3 nancy asspirated engine 517bhp and only 369lbft ? torque (s55 had 516lbft, s600 590lbft, s65 738lbft) this will be detuned even further for the lower models

Bah humbug
If you really play the 220 scenerio out with the 221 ... 550 now, NA 6.3 in 08', turbo in 09' ... three new releases (and three sales cycles) for one new engine .. they did on the 220 and it may have pissed off the NAS55'ers but there was new interest at each release.

Just a thought.

Thats why I think when the S class comes with the V8 engine it will be NA and we wont see the turbo charged version till the new SL comes out...
Or .. they can launch the NA 6.3, turn up the output on the TTV12 (670, 700ish?) and release the TT6.3 at close to 600hp to maintain the gap and keep the S65 relevant.

Clay, I'd guess the NA E63 will be introduced at the IAA this summer, together with the facelift.

That's a good guess.

I am sure that they will add it at some point to the line-up -- I am just not so sure when we'll see.....
