Yeah, so what do you want?

SL/M6
I saw 4 today (different drivers) in a 5 mile radius around my house in LA, all from the local dealership and all black. I love the new S but was a bit let down by the "wow" factor road presence wise, while driving behind/beside one. I know S's are pure class and not some Escalade bling-mobile; its just that after seeing one parked, I thought it would look different driving. It is very masculine as far as the lines go and I do like it better then the outgoing model. With all those hump fenders and big lights, it still manages to blend into a refined flag ship benz masterpiece
In 1999 when the first USA W220 hit the roads, there really was nothing else that was a "must have" in its class. Ttoday, it just seems like there are so many options....look at the lower priced Bentleys for instance. In 1999 a non VW Bentley was at least twice as much dough compared to now (I think).
I have had 5 blacks cars and finally went silver on my new SL. I actually like silver on the new S as well. The next CL is what I really want to see

Illuminated door sills? Niiiiiiice.
And I completely agree on features and function over form. The looks will grow on you, or you'll come to acceptance with them. How many passenger cars are actually gorgeous?!!!
All cars, even beautiful ones - just like women - have their 'flaws', or 'awkward' parts or views -- and you can find them if you look hard enough. Why focus on them? When the rest of the package, and how much you enjoy and value the rest of the package, is what really matters?
IMHO....

I think the new technology in the 221 is enough to override the appearance differences.

This summer should be a busy one...:-)

nice car
I was at the dealer yesterday with an assocaite that went with the intent of taking home the new 550. I don't understand how they didn't let him take of on the many they had in the lot.
We test drove the car and it handled great drove like a true s with style performance and luxury. The interior can take time to grown on you none the less it is stunning. The metel knobs give it an extroardinary look. I have to say that seeing it in person makes a big diiference. By far the best 2 colors IMO are black and white. These make the curves of the car more appealing.
beautiful car IMO
