07 MBZ S-Classe w/ 22" staggered wheels
While many people buy a benz primarily for the 3 pointed star, I bought mine for the features, functions, style and peformance. BALANCE. Then TASTEFULLY modded it, keeping it balanced. That mod is all show, and has WORSE performance and little purpose. Its ok by me for people to do ego-ize their car, makes me look better. Just dont mistake the ego with style. The wheels themselves look nice, just way to big and wrong style for this car. You are not being "DIFFERENT" by getting these wheels, you are now just the same as everyone with big wheels.
VIP, more like VSD.
Here's my crude profanation of his look, taking it in a direction I'd like to see with different rims, color-keying the chrome moldings, and tinting the windows....

Those wheels do have quite a bit more class, than the sporty ones on there now.

As far as "stock" looking "ugly" and "add nothing" to the car...I beg to differ. Mine is "stock" AMG kit and that money was better spent than some chrome 22" rims and low profile tires. Just my opinion...sorry I like my setup better.

I agree it is all personal preference. But "stock" does not make a car "ugly" or "not add" to the appearance...I think the MB stock AMG kit shows that.
Exotic wheel designs in bigger sizes do not make a car unique but merely satisfy the owners who buy them. The aftermarket business loves it...:-)
There is a difference between "tweaking" and "overkill" when it comes to bling, bling. Those 22" wheels as shown (and many in the images you posted) is nothing more than bling, bling. The AMG kit is part of a MB design feature and can be ordered from MB...my car is 100% "stock" MB.
Not much can be accomplished with this subject...personal preferences prevail and that's as it should be. My preference is to not destroy the original design features with bling...your preference may be totally different....but wrong...LOL

As a matter of fact, large wheels are a new trend in my opinion. No one put 22s on cars back in...the 60s.

To me, wheels are not only a question of taste, it's also a question for performance and safety.
Those 22's simply scream ghetto and having no class but maybe that's just me... Besides that, extreme low profile tires are plain stupid from a performance standpoint. Great for cruising South Beach, but not much else.
Forget comfort and highspeed driving.
My 2 cents...

Stick that in your eye or wherever it fits....

I'd say the 22" looks good on the S class, but if i had a choice of wheels, I would've gone for a wheel that had less gaps in between. There's just too much open space.
I had 22" on my Cayenne S. Perfect fit for the car in my opinion. Although it did defeat the purpose of going off road. But hey there's no where off road in Hong Kong to go
