Rear TVs in headrest??

Has anyone installed TVs in the rear headrests of their S550, if so what brand did you choose to go with. I am kind of hesitant on installing anything, but for long drives sometimes it helps with backseat passengers from prior experiences. TIA.

I wouldn't install any monitors in the back of the headrest's, as they are active and tied into the air-bag system.
You will void the active headrest warranty and risk losing the safety of your headrests in S550. Either do a ceiling mount where the vanity mirrors are or the center console mount.

What JLP said! For the love of safety, stay away from the V221 headrests! They are no longer just blocks of foam.

If you need dual monitors, check out the factory R-Class sysem for a hint about mounting the screens in a box structure behind the headrests. A good shop should be able to do this for you without compromising your safety.

Thanks for the heads up on the safety. Do you think I could do a mounting system inside the seats similar to the pictures below??

No safety system location conflicts there, just make sure that the screens are at a comfortable viewing distance.

enVision is a good plug and play kit. i believe they're only available to NEW car delaerships. complete headrest replacement. independent DVD players and wireless headsets, or both can be linked together to play a DVD off 1 unit.

I know Brabus offers rear entertainment option for the S-Class, without cutting into the rear headrest and voiding the warranty. In fact they also add a rear tray table. I'm not sure what is cost, so if anyone has any prices I'd definately be interested in knowing.

Besides the Invision units, you can also look into Vizualogic or Myron and Davis.

House of Imports is using M&D....
