The front and rear bumpers are okay from Lorinser. The puddle lights, I'd like on the side skirts only. Get rid of everything else. The wheels are so-so. Dechrome them. And who the hell puts window deflectors on an S-Class?

It's not THAT bad. It would look certainly a lot better, if he got rid of the puddle lights in the front, and also paint the mesh grills black.

I don't know what you talking about, remove the chrome wheels and chrome mesh, it will look stunning.

Poor S600 ... I never liked Lorinser kit for W221. I also got a question , who was first with the puddle lights ? Brabus or Lorinser ?

Lose the badges stuck into the front quarter panel vents, the puddle lights on the front and rear bumpers, the wind deflectors and chrome window surrounds.... and that's a hot car.

A guy who works in a building next to one of my offices has a black S550 with the full Lorinser body kit and GFG chrome wheels. It looks stunning, as do his other cars... Pagani Zonda and Ferrari F430

Thought the Zonda wasn't allowed in the US?

Anyways, comming out of my dealership the other day was a white Lorinser S class...I wanted to get a closer look, but some old man was in it and I did not want to look creepy.

This is not a new topic, yet here we go again with those conservative no-stylers that give zero room for creative and individual expression! It's an extreme love-it-or-hate-it look. That's Lorinser. Aftermarket kits are all about personal interpretation of an already nice car and taking it to a more unique, more exclusive place - some more aggressive than others - and somewhere where those staunch conservatives wouldn't dare to go because that's just not them. They like their car stock and that's okay for them. They like spending $100K on a car and being just another brick in the wall. That always made a lot of sense to me . But, it is pure discrimination and obtuseness when they start mocking the boldness of others who have taken the time, effort and expense into making a personal esthetic statement of their car other than just taking it to get detailed!

The side vents with the mesh and the chrome pieces may be a bit overdone, IMHO, however the front grille with the CL-style grille and the rear with the integrated exhaust are AWESOME additions and make the car so much more special and - I hate to say it - not just more of the same old boring sh*t that everyone and anyone else drives around in that no one will ever turn their head to look twice at

We will never agree on this subject CL...there are those who have silver teeth or tatoos or rings in their nose, but there are also those who like it the way we got here. All these "personal interpretations" are somehow related to get someone to "turn their heads" and look at me...I'm different. If that is your thing (as I know it is with you) then chase the "unique." But when the unique becomes the usual chrome/body panel excess like this example, where do you go? Perhaps the "boring s***" becomes more head turning than the excessive overdone statements you seek.

Got to get going...time for my detailing...:-)

The V12 badge is actually on there from the factory.

I know, but with those fender vents my preference would be to remove the badge -- too busy with it on there.

Well there is definitely at least one here in Scottsdale. I took a picture of it with my cell phone a while back, if I can find it I'll upload it.

It was unbelievable, by the way! Made the F car look rather mundane. And that humongous AMG engine

CLFREAK.....just cut and paste what Nevada said....in actuality, i like the car EXCEPT for the "puddle lights"(is that what those little blue lights on the ground surrounding the car are called?) and the wind deflectors. I think this black S600 looks alot better than the other Lorinser we talked about...maybe it is the chrome grills that i think look better.

Here is what i think is more tasteful....

That's a terrible analogy for one; personal interpretation and expression comes from the heart which you obviously don't feel is worthy of tribute; it is more than just turning heads which any idiot can do by seeking needless attention. Being unique takes a certain eye for style, and takes talent, courage, and creativity. Your car's nice and clean, no doubt, but realize that buying a stock car and keeping it that way takes only $$$$ and nothing more, and once you see the same style car repeated in hundreds of sightings over the course of its reign, what do you have then (which will be the case in another year or so)? Even worse, when the body style changes again, then you have something that's dated, depreciated, and dull.

This banter could've all been avoided if the conservatists of the automotive world would just respect others' freedom of expression and leave it at that and withhold the negative commentary. You don't have to like it, just respect it as us more "creative" types respect the stock look. Enough said.

It's really not that bad. Plus notice it's in a different country. I watch lots of Asian movies and I get to see different styles in how cars are modified. Different cultures just have different ways of expression for the vehicles; it's just the way it is.

Apparently there are two in Scottsdale, one red (the one I've seen) and one silver. Not bad considering there are supposed to be fewer than 10 in the entire USA. I couldn't find the pic I took, but here is a relevant thread including a picture

http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=100300

Next time I see it I'll get some better pictures. Overall the Zonda is the most desirable car I've ever laid eyes on. Much more special than an SLR. Byt I haven't seen a Veyron in the flesh as of yet.

The owner's black Lorinser S550 is very sharp too.
