Talking MY DAY at SEMA 2006!!!!

Another glorious day here in Vegas and S-class heaven, people - as you will see!

All I can say about this year's offerings - nothing short of spectacular. The rides, the rims, and the honeys - galore! It's like you died and went to customized heaven. Those who know my posts in which I preach vehemently about expressing oneself through aftermarket customization should know how I felt being there. There were more variations of S-classes than anywhere in the world! Just pure insanity. And to top it off, I got some great coverage on the new CL with a Carlsson bodykit. I CANNOT DECIDE - I LOVE THE S-CLASSES, BUT THAT DAMN NEW CL (my last one I loved too).

YOU DECIDE & TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT FOR XMAS NOW:

https://mbworld.org/forums/cl-class-w216/169946-sema-2006-carlsson-cl550-live-videos-pics-part-1-2-a.html

MORE CRAZY PICS FROM THE SHOW (some tidbits: check out the insane & silly-*** 30" rims in pic #2 (the green car) and on the black Hummer, & check out the side-by-side flush-mounted monitors on the side running boards on another Hummer (I think):

PART 2 of 7:

Absolutely PERFECT ride height/lowering job these masters at Wald did and not a bad-looking body kit either. Nicer than Lorinser, I think.

PART 7 of 7:

NOW - WE COME TO THE FINAL SHOWDOWN

THE S-CLASS (preferably an S65) vs. the BENTLEY CONTINENTAL FLYING SPUR

You've seen everything imaginable for an S-class in terms of style and power. Does the Bentley even hold a candle to it now? You decide and let me know...

Thumbs up

Thanks CL Freak,

Excellent photos. I feel as if I've been there at the show with you.

In regards to S vs Spur, it's not a fair comparison as the S is obviously superior...

After looking at these images, I will trade my E for a S class on my next purchase.

Again, thanks for the brilliant images!

I have inquired about the Forgati Radurra's which are the clear rims...I think those are insane and my boy wants them for his car as he always takes his TL to car shows.

You can view those and more at www.autospies.com.

And for sure, I would get the Bentley over the S. Come on...it's a Bentley!!

Those are awesome pictures, and awesome cars/bodykits/rims. I would have to say the best one I have seen from SEMA was on the CLS board. It was a West Coast Customs S550 that they chopped and made into a CL. IMO much more attractive than the CL. I didn't like the color they used or the rims or the grille, but the fact that they turned a 4-door into an amazing coupe is awesome. Colors and grilles can always be changed... Great pics!

Everyone is going with 22s on the S-class now. 20s are simply too small a rim and out of style for this size vehicle. Even the CLS, which is a lot smaller, is doing 22s.

22x9 - 9.5 front and 22x9.5-10 in rear!

And 30 series tires front, 25 series rear. Anything else looks too pedestrian.

Yes, I posted pics of that car in the W216 forum because I didn't know what it was!

I would also like to know who makes those rims on the silver S550 in part 5 of 7 and it's also the last pic you posted next to the Bentley. I think those look sweet. I believe the ones on the black ride is Ashanti's

Judging from the logo on the 1st one, DaVinci.

I have no idea on the one next to the Bentley, sorry.

Amazing... the W221 S class will certainly become the most tunable car in it's class both past and present. Nobody tunes the comparable models from Lexus BMW or Audi like that!

Question - May I repost some of your pictures in an exposition about Brembo systems for the W221?

Thanks in advance!

Just too overdone for me personally though some of the wheels are good looking, but I wouldn't have them in those sizes.

I think that can be attributed to the fact that MB has so many tuning companies that are exclusive to them. Brabus, Kleemann and Carlsson are some examples.
P.S. I don't mind seeing some Brabus kits, I like them expect their double fog light things sometimes look sorta funky
