new s550v sport just arrived today.
hey guys, new to the board, infact this is my first thread, well, my new car just came in, obsidian blk s550 sport w/p2a package, black leather, and the 321amg sport package, i am heading down to the dealership to meet my wife and pick it up, just wanted to share the news, i will hollar back later, take care.

still not out of detail ???
well. i was supposed to pick my new s550 up friday, showed up at the dealer at the appointed time from my salesman, and guess what .? car still in detail, it is still there monday morning too, i really can't wait to drive the dadgum thing, ...that is if it ever gets out of detail., my salesman assured me that it is flawless, and he knows what i expect, anyone care to speculate on the dealerships lateness.?

It may just have gotten to detail. I work at a car dealership and I know a lot of times they claim 'in detail' because they know people want their car 100% perfect and will not complain, when in fact perhaps they got backed up in service (tech down, etc) and could not get around to PDI/state inspection, maybe damaged but the odds of that are low because it would be at a body shop.

teutonic, i think you are exactly right, the guys at the dealership know how customers that spend 100k+ want there cars to look when they pick them up, he assured me that the car is flawless, i am going to get it right know, thanks for your reply, Hawk, you kinda worried me there for a minute, hey what happened to you guy's against the mighty Oral Roberts golden eagles the other night, i think you are still in schock....lol., j/k..... just havin fun with ya.!!

Did you have a chance to even get a glimpse of your car when it first came in?
They had Friday afternoon, Saturday and Monday to detail your vehicle and it should have been done.
I have a sneeking suspicion that something may have happened to your car as I went through something similar when we picked up my wife's SL550.
The dealer had wanted to fully detail our car and needed extra time to do so when we arrived to pick it up.
We decided to take a "peek" in the back of the shop and that is when we noticed a small paint chip in the pass side door.
To shorten this story, they thought it would be a simple 1-hour job when in fact it took several days as they had to repaint the majority of the door.
I hope something similar didn't happen to you but just wanted to share my experience.

Has your dealer finished detailing your car?
Curious if the dealer ever got done detailing your new car? I do hope they weren't repairing any damage that they caused prior to delivery.

Hawk, congrats on your big win vs florida, how u guys can lose to Oral Roberts and then beat Florida is beyond me,Anyway, the car was absolutley perfect, flawless, without a single blemish, needless to say ..i love it, the creme dela creme, really in my opinion, worth the money for a change, take care.... soonaaz, big 12 champs.
