Did you know Europe has a color called "CHROMOFLAIR" which is a gradient color .... meaning when you look at the car - u see a scale of colors...... and as u move - the scale moves too. Its CRAZY!!!

I've heard about that type of paint, but I've never seen it. Maybe that would be the one "color" that doesn't look good on the 221, because of the huge flat surfaces, like the hood.

Oh wait, I take it back, I have seen this. There was a special edition 996 once with violet paint that looked blue or even green as you walked around it. It was interesting on a car as small as a 996. But I wouldn't have bought it. And I don't think it would look good on a bigger car.

Wow. Thanks everybody! That S550 in the Capri Blue looks BEAUTIFUL... I still am not sure, but I think I'm down to... Black Opal or Barolo Red.. but I am now also considering the Capri blue. To many decisions!

JUST JOKING.
Just ask yourself what color you would like to see everday when you walk to your car. Its such a personal choice anyway - i wouldnt worry about resale unless you really plan to sell it within a couple of years.
Truth is - as the poster said above, Barolo Red wont sell well in the resale market....... Blue might. Black / white / silver / pewter will sell great.

You could be patriotic and ask them to custom paint it in Black Opal, Capri Blue, and Mystic White

I used to have an S55 AMG in black.. I loved the thing but black was so hard to keep clean. So if I go with the Black Opal I can get the look of the darkish color without the horrible finger prints.
But I also love the Barolo red.. looks sporty.

Yes - black is near impossible to keep clean - but as most will agree.... when its clean - its heaven.

There is only one possible for the CLS, I believe it is Chromaflair I, from what I remember it is the same one posted up there, from azure blue to violet or something like that. The reason I chose it over vario color is that while they both color shift, chromaflair is the only one that has chrome particles instead of simple metallic particles.

Excluding designo colors, I love the everest green. Out of your choices, I'd say Barolo Red with Black interior, unless you want a lighter interior for hot weather...

I would go with the black opal instead of the barolo red. The black opal is much more elegant and with savanna cashmere interior, its to die for. My neighbors wife has the barolo red and it does not seem that nice on that car. Also, you already have a car with that color, get something new. Have a variety. Also, i dont think your going to find a barolo red with the options you want. Dealers tend to not have many of s550s in stock with that color. Go with black opal!

I really love the silver, does not show the dirt, etc. My choice on this body style is Black. I saw one in the showroom and this new body style screams for black.
A real pain to keep up and if it was to be an everyday car, I vote for silver.
Good luck, I am sure you will make the right choice!

I suppose if you are finding it difficult....ask yourself these questions...
are you an extrovert, outgoing person....then perhaps the barolo red or capri blue would be great...they are lovely colors and definately say look at me more so than the others...
alternatively perhaps you are more comfortable being elegant yet understated....then your choice is perhaps the blacks, or silvers.
I have had the following colours on my cars
Black opal (called green black here!)
Melanite black
Impala brown
Obsidian Black
Silver.
Ive always liked my cars understated but purposeful....so thats prob why i gravitate towards obsidian black. I liked the opal...but i felt a times it was a bit to green/blue. I loved the melanite black buts its not available on the W221...
So just choose a colour that reflects who you are.....
Im a bit of a traditionalist so the black and silver appeal to me.....
But there is just the added x factor with a metallic black that I feel you dont have with the other colors...
Anyway the car looks great in lots of colours so just go with what your "gut" tells you...and hopefully we dont influence you too much!
Good luck
