Color choice help please!
Ok. I am going to get a new S550... I am still debating on the color, Black Opal, Barolo Red, Flint Grey. What do you guys think?

197 the good ol obsidian black
170 columbite black ... great color, dont know if its available for the 221...i know it from the 211
and of course white is just great

I actually wanted to get the barolo red at one point. But my wife didn't like it.
But I saw a 221 in that color this week and it looks great.
If you're getting the designo upgrade, then mocha and graphite both look great. I like the graphite better than flint (personal opinion of course)
But of the three options you provided, I think the best would be black opal. I haven't seen a 221 in that color yet, but I think it will look great.

My vote's for Black Opal because, admittedly, that's what I ordered! 
I've seen an S550 in that colour at my dealer and that helped me make my decision, Flint Grey was my 2nd choice. Just remember though, it's actually a very dark blue...

The black opal is really beautiful. I saw it on a CLS500 and it changes color in different lightings and different angles

I think it depends on what your doing. If you are buying the car, i recommend you get a color that will be easy to sell (i.e. i dont think barolo red will be a good idea). If you are looking to lease it, get any color you want. Are you getting amg package? I can tell you which color i think will match your car if you are getting that option.

If I were in your shoes, I would want to see those colors on the car, not just a color chip. If you end up not liking what you order, you are stuck with it. Well, not really. You could refuse the car and if it wasn't some saleproof combination (red with blue interior, for example) your dealer would probably let you reorder. Maybe.

I have 221 in Siver it really suits the design of the car. Somehow the 221 in Silver does not show the design of the car at it's best.
I am getting the 221 at the end of the year, i have decided on Obsidian Black which seems to be the new Silver in the UK. In London there are lots of 221's in all colours and the one that looks the best is the Obsidian with the AMG sports pack. I may be a bit biased as i do have a W202 C43 AMG in the same colour.

OTOH, for some reason I prefer the 220 in the lighter colors, (but not necessarily white) especially with the appearance package.
But, let's be honest, the 221 is still a great looking car in any color.
