Good by S, hello GL
Well later on this week or the first of next week I will no longer own the S550. It has taken a while but I will be picking up a '08 GL550 from Westminster MB in Denver. I am looking forward to the GL and glad it has the same engine and tranny that my S has. That in itself should make it a success.
I have really enjoyed the S and believe it to be the best production luxury car in the world. The ride, comfort and power has been more than I thought I would ever be able to experience. You all understand my complete satisfaction with the S and know what I am talking about when you drive one. It is the best MB I have owned in over 30 years of driving them.
With the GL I kind of go back to my liking for wagons. Yeah, I know, the GL550 is no wagon but MB had poured the option list into this thing and it may turn out to be the new "Beast" of the SUV market. First drive reviews are very positive with many comments on the size of the grille star...
I am looking forward to the experience.
Here is a shot of the S I took today. Still a looker even though I could not get to the car wash today. I will be posting on the GL forum with the usual pictures, maybe more since I just got a new DSLR yesterday...

As long as you still come around and hang out a bit here in the W221 area also.... I think its reasonable to say that everyone here looks up to you with all the respect and admiration we have.

As long as you still come around and hang out a bit here in the W221 area also.... I think its reasonable to say that everyone here looks up to you with all the respect and admiration we have.
