Do you have to pay for the first service, Service A?

Do you have to pay for the first service, Service A?
my parents just took their s550 with i believe 7000 miles to the dealer for a scheduled maintenance and said the dealership is charging them $200. how can this be when it's still under warranty? it's not like they're taking the car in for brake pads or something that warranty doesn't cover

Up until a few years ago (2005?), the Mercedes warranty included all maintenance items, including filters, oil, etc., for the full 4 year 50,000 mile vehicle warranty. This is no longer included on any 2007 Mercedes, although if I am not mistaken, is still available on BMW's

I believe Mercedes cut the maintenance under warranty thing in 2003.

I paid around $220 for my service so I think you got a little luckier than I did on it.
