The outside rear view mirror frame is different for 234: A221 810 07 76. I'm not sure if this is because of the mirror wiring harness being part of it.

Not impossible at all to change these parts but the cost from the control unit, frame and mirror glass would be a bit high relative to the gain from the leds. I would consider the feature useful without the leds but if it would only work with a new door control unit, I could consider changing that and perhaps even the other parts.

I went to George and G&n motors and he called the dealer and ordered the part. He then retrofitted the blind spot assist on my 500 series and can do so for the 2009 and newer. So he not only can he fix them, he also can add the part from the manufacturer in some cases.

He either installs the warning light in the Rear View mirror, sets a light up somewhere in your dash. There is also an auditable sound that you can turn on or off...

Jeff
That's a deal. Maybe just have the light somewhere else...
