Nits to pick about my S600.

Sound of the turn signals. The click click click sounds like it's from a 10 year old Civic.

Sound when locking the car. Harsh triple chirp. Neighbors old 3 series BMW has a soft tick tock note.

Engine sound. Starting of and accelerating lightly, you hear a good bit of the engine. I didn't expect silence like an electric car, but it sounds there is less firewall insulation than many cheaper cars.

Am I just being too picky?

Yes....you are very picky. And also not very in tune with other cars noise levels. Assuming that everything in your car is in proper order, I bet that if you took a decibel meter in your car and then measured the sound in another car that you think is quieter, you'd likely find out that your S600 is significantly quieter than the other cars. Perhaps the problem is that you're driving a higher mileage car that is developing noises that aren't normal. Noise levels when the W221 S600 was introduced were among the quietest of any car on the planet, even with the monster V12 TT motor. If those sounds bother you, then turn up your radio.

The turn signals in my S600 were pretty quiet. If you want to hear loud turn signals, jump into any British car like Jag or Range Rover. If you don't like the chirp when locking the doors, then turn it off in your settings menu. The lights will still flash.

Not talking about how loud the turn signal sound is, just that it sounds rather crude compared to the soft synthesized sound from most other newer cars these days. Need an audible sound when locking the car, and again, many other cars have a gentle sound. It's quiet at a steady cruise, but accelerating from a stop I hear plenty of fan noise through the firewall.

Yep, the harsh sound of the turn signals are reason enough to unload a car.

Excessive engine noise under load is normally worn engine/trans mounts. There isn't a mechanical fan attached to the engine.

maybe the chirp on the 2010+ cars is different? My friends always comment on they like that sound when they hear it. Now, my GL doesn't make any sound for some reason.

Yes +1

These cars consume mounts like no tomorrow. Every 30K I would do them.

I was able to turn on the audible lock/unlock on my GL in the instrument cluster settings. It's just a short chirp.
