Someone please tell me I'm wrong. Seems pretty rediculous if this is the case. Not even an available option, let alone one of the "all options included"

It's still on the website as an included option. Where did you hear that it may be eliminated?

The invoice I received from the dealer didnt have it listed on the sheet - code 889. It had remotekeyless entry only (code 763)

Thumbs down

Sometimes, MB website f*** up buyers. I purchased recently C300. The website alleged it was equipped with so-called "tunnel mode." Turned out wrong information.

I don't care for their website either. When I click on a particular model,( say an S65), and then click on photos for that model, you get pictures of all of the different S class cars instead of specifically S65 cars.
Same for interactive interior and exterior photos.

Also, when you click on unique items, such as special wheels, designo editions, etc. , the descriptions and photos are extremely limited.

I have to look on Ebay, dupont registry, or some other exotic car websites to get good samples of the cars in question.

it is standard on 08 S600s. Kinda got a scare because i didnt see it inside the car when i got delivery but the module was hiding inside the glove compartment.

check with your dealer to see if MB is not short on parts and is omitting keyless go for the build your car is in. In that case a credit for that option should show up on your build.

Happened to me on my slk55. Car was supposed to have sattelite radio but due to lack of parts all SLK55's build the month mine was recieved a credit for the satellite radio parts.

For a while before I ordered my S drive dynamic seats were not available for a period of 2 months

I bet keyless start would be a bugger to retrofit. I wonder where the Kessy module (key sensing module) is located? I installed a few keyless starts on VW Phaeton's and it took every bit of a day to complete. Driver seat had to come out (weighed about 100 pounds), gear shifter area had to be removed, 6 inch thick carpet pulled back, and very tiny wires had to be connected and it was a mind boggling experience. Disconnecting batteries at the appropriate time had to be considered or else a module could get totally out of whack and you might be grounded and have to get the car towed to the dealer. Fortunately I had computer equipment to help me resolve fault codes and get problems fixed on the spot. Nevertheless, it was like performing brain surgery.

When I went to Germany and witnessed an S class being put together, I was amazed at all of the computers stashed throughout this car.

not just one but 6 antennas; one in each door, one in the trunk and one behind the dash. Remember its not just keyless start but unlock as well and the antennas help to determine whether the key is inside the vehicle or outside.

The Keyless Go is fully operational in my 2008 S600... though I took out that plastic button... there is a certain sensual pleasure in inserting your nice shiny key into that... well you know...

I am still a little irritated by the deletion of the Park Assist feature and the bendy yellow lines in the Rear View Camera... (Which seems true for many MY2008 cars) My SA spent a day trying to get it back-patched but after several factory calls it is apparently not possible... there does appear to be a new version of this feature coming out however so hoping MB back patch existing cars like they did with that FY07 patch...

Actually I quite like this idea of having my car reprogrammed with a release of features once in a while... Soon I hope to be driving version S600.1

Laughing at your post while suffering from insomnia here in central time. Two in the morning on the forum is not my cup of tea.
