Anyone knows when the 2009 models are coming out and when dealers are taking orders for the specs?

I never have understood what time of the year constitutes the new model year designation. Is it universally accepted amongst all countries to adopt a particular month, or is it variable as to where you live, or does Mercedes-Benz set it as a certain time of the year??? Here in the US it seems to coincide with sometime around early September (I think).
I really wish it just simply coincided with the year that the car was manufactured as seen on the stamped date in the door jam.
It probably is a marketing scheme to seem ahead of the game amongst the competition to say the latest/greatest is already on the road.

How do you take a look at the dealer inventory? I just look through autotrader and cars.com. Listings are weak to say the least not too many details just an MSRP.

Very easy,
2009 models out -> late 07/08 2008.
'09 orders could be taken right now at the dealer (any)
and current inventories you could check at the .....dealer (any).

Thanks for the info! Now all I need to do is find a dealer willing to deal heavily on an S63. Anyone have any suggestions? Should I just e-mail every dealer with a large inventory and offer 12% off MSRP and see who responds? I'm looking for a a fully loaded S63 so I'm guessing they will have more breathing room than a base model car.

Also the MB website has no car configurator for the S63s or CL63s for that matter. Anyone know where I can get a list of the options & pricing for those options?

Are you looking for an '08 or an '09?

There's only 12.25% margin in the cars...if someone gave you guys 15% off they lost money on keeping your sale...hard to believe

I have found 2 dealerships that are willing to do the 10k off. One on a black on black MSRP just over 98k. The other on a capri blue and savanna MSRP just under 96k. PM me if interested in dealer information. I am not affiliated with either dealership in anyway but am simply doing what I wanted others to do for me, "tell me the name of who will do the deal that you talk about".

I am still working on my deal of 10k off but MSRP of 93K.

Looking for an 09. I'll be travelling a bit in May and the whole of July. Don't see any point in getting a car for a month when I can get an 09.

WWMIndy: thanks for the info. I'm guessing that since I'm gonna be ordering a fully loaded pretty much everything except Designo 09 S63 the dealer has a bit more margin in there. Besides never hurts to low ball. I just don't want to offend the dealership by starting way too low.

Should I make an offer of $3K below invoice and see who deals?

One point might be that MB might throw the dealers some extra cash at some point, to move out the 08s.

I'm being told by my dealer that MB finance has dropped the APR to 2.9% for the month of april for the S class. Can anyone verify this. On MBUSA it still says 3.9%, but i have come to learn that MBUSA is the most useless site for information. Edmunds.com says 2.9 as well, but they had 2.9 last month as well and it ended up being wrong. You would think i should trust my salesperson, but unfortunately i don't. If anyone has any information on this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
