Pricing on S class
Looking at the 07 S class...they are selling on ebay for low 70's.arent these 100K plus cars..that are selling for 30K some close to 40K after just 1 year?
I see a few for 65K what gives...

depreciation my man depreciation. the more expensive the car the harder u fall. all part of the game. 1st year is usually the worst, gets better the second year.
Drove a new S550 at launch for mth or so....and traded-in for 100% of MSRP....
High-end economy is slowing, esp in past 3mos....so would guess new S550s are available at ?93% MSRP...and one can $0-down lease at decent terms...doubt it's financially efficient for most to buy any car....
No surprise used '07 values are so low...most used/aspirational buyers are more affected by economy and expect a substantial disct vs cost of a new copy....and no one "needs" an S-Class anyway, so many clever buyers will simply opt to $0-down lease a deep-discounted new copy...
They said they were very busy selling cars the past month..
Im looking at a demo with MSRP of 95k asking 79,747$ with 6xxx miles.
They wouldn't go lower than 78500$ .....they haven't called back in 2 weeks...
My guess would be that lower fed interest rate = lower cost of borrowing=lower payments, so people would go ahead and buy more?
But the reason why the fed rate is lower is coz economy is in a bad state which would lead to people spending less..
I dont get it ..

I didn't end up buying the car through him bec. I got a good deal here in Austin + I was not comfortable transporting the car 1100 miles and assuming responsibility for that.

I usually take the crap I read in the auto magazines, divide it by 10 then take the square root of that and that is about all their nonsense comments is worth!! The media is 100% of the problem with everything. I rarely watch the news to keep from being in depression.
It's good to hear your business is doing great in Atlanta. Which dealership are you associated with in Atlanta?
Secondly, please work off a percentage. You can get 15% off the MSRP if you REALLY buy the car on the spot.

Please tell me this is not true (so I don't feel so stupid and inadequate)
Uuuummmm, on second thoughts, please tell me that it is true (so that I can go back to the dealer and hammer them some more when I take delivery of my car)

$15k off MSRP is phenomenal.
I hope you are not yanking our chains and are being truthful. If you're not, then there's no harm in coming back and letting us know otherwise.
