Thanks!! Much appreciated.
It's a lot of work - and at this time, I am doing Spring 09 while selling Fall 08 and collecting payments on Spring 08.
On top of that - crashing my car.. lol.
One day - one of the Mods around here will have to suggest I visit a mental institution!

One of my pet peevs ... i sent an email to the person handling my car at the MB Manhattan Body Shop around 10am. I did not receive a reply. To me, sending a reply, even if it is just saying "I will update you tomorrow", is the right thing to do. I'll call tomorrow.
I'd like my car back by Friday if it is possible - but would be ok if it was a later date, so long as it is done perfectly. I am not a pushy customer with them - but everything within reason of course.
(I don't want this car to come back to me in the middle of April

10:10am - just called, she said she got my email yesterday. She didn't know exactly when it would be ready, but would email/call me later today. I mentioned I'd like it back this week, and she said she did not know yet exactly when. She said something about not knowing the status on whether all the parts came in or not, etc.
By Wednesday, if it doesnt look like this week is possible, I will ask my Service Advisor to just keep his eye on it for me. At this stage, it is not in his hands, but in the hands of the bodyshop.

However, if there are 5 cars to be repaired, and so 3 guys are working on 5 cars, vs 1 guy on my car in particular... that would not be fair - because I even offered to pay a bit out of pocket to get her back faster if they dedicate one person to it.

Love my Service Advisor. And I know he stressed to the bodyshop to make this their top job... so it is a bit odd to get this news.

My SL55 got dinged Feb 8th. I am on Week #6. Patience is required when dealing with getting these cars repaired. Just give up on trying to expedite the process. Your just wasting your time and will get frustrated.

Yeah, didn't think it would take just a week. It took a little under a week (five days about) when the ML just needed to get the rear bumper repainted when some guy bumped into it at a stop sign.

Good advice. I hope your car comes back soon too. I will consider the option of renting a car. Right now - I am able to work from home because it is the thinking of concept process. I don't have to be at a factory for this. We will see.

In truth, I prefer perfection on the job - even if it requires long lead time...
