Suprise in the Mail
I'd have to say that if all of the cars listed in your signature were all bought at that same dealership within the past 2 years, then they've made enough profit to give you that offer.
Hey, I can say this because I'm just as guilty.
Just the past 20 years:
1984 VW Rabbit
1989 Acura Legend
1992 Acura Legend
1995 Acura Legend
1990 Mercedes Benz 350 SDL
1995 Acura SLX
1996 Mercedes S420
1996 Chevy Van (hated it )
1985 Chevy stationwagon
1982 Chevy impala: these two cars were bought just to trade off and hopefully make a buck or two.
1990 Chevy Pickup
1993 Chevy Pickup
1997 GMC van (loved it but it caught on fire)
1998 Acura RL (for me)
1998 Acura RL (for wife)
1994 S500 (used)
2000 S500
2002 E320
2002 CL500
2002 CLK 320 cab.
2000 Ford F150
1993 Nissan pickup
1998 Ford Ranger
2003 Chevy Trailblazer
2004 VW Phaeton W12
2004 Chevy Trailblazer
2006 MB CL500
2006 Lexus IS 250
2007 MB S600
2008 MB C350
2008 Ford SportTrac
2005 Ford F150
Earlier than 20 years ago:
1963 GMC chevy truck
1965 Chevy pickup
19XX? VW Beetle
19XX? VW Beetle
1975 Fiat stationwagon (hated it)
I guess I'm just a ***** when it comes to vehicles and this is not including 7 different motorcycles since 1998!
All in all, I've probably had my *** in or sitting on at least 2 million dollars worth of vehicles. Really a pitiful track record. Hey, I've had fun with it.

Anyhow, back to the original question/topic, I hope it's a legit offer as you're lucky if it is. I hope it is not a trick in financing though. Like switching and baiting you with a lease term that is ridiculous or hiding the fact that you will have to put down $10K+ to make the original offer true. Regardless, good luck. Keep us informed.
On that same note, if that's not bad enough, today I test drove a 2006 SL 63 with 14K miles on it and a 2007 Maybach with only 6K miles on it. The SL63 is selling for $100K and the maybach is selling just under $195K. Get this, they both were turned in by the same owner!!! Talk about a LOSS! This guy just lost around $250K on two cars with barely 20,000 miles on the two cars combined

So let me get this straight, you can trade your CLK 350 $600/month? in for a 2008 SL550 $1300/month if you want? Same payments - just an even swap?
Meaning you are paying $600 a month for an SL550?

Really this is just another gimmick to get you into the showroom so they can upsell you into more car.

, if its true I'd do it.
It would be unfortunate if a Mercedes dealer would send out a very misleading letter just to get them into the showroom.
Will be interesting either way.
Not sure I understand.

Edit: Our letter said "We want your 2006 S-CLASS," but on the phone they said since our 07 S550 only has 8500 miles, they said bring it in. But im not sure if you guys received the same letter.
