Thanks
Bobby
Also one more question, since I need to have decent rims should I go for the sport pkge or a vehicle without it and get after market wheels?

Actually, just in this W221 forum alone there are about 3-4 threads titled "Pricing ...", all with pretty updated info.

Starting another whole new thread about pricing would not be beneficial to him as you can already see with the lack of response here.
I was just trying to get his attention to look through all the threads that have a ton of valuable stuff for him

i got a 2008 wht/blk s550v4 with P3, pano, sport pkg ,prem leather, wood wheel, heated wheel, ipod, bluetooth for 108k flat out the door with tax with a list of 114k -- about 6k discount back in jan 08 --so u did quite well

i replaced my 19 amg wheels with a set of 20 amg from 2008 s63 for about $3000 -- was going to see if you were interested in buying my old 19's with tires but looks like you got sport pkg
i also put some oem amg pedals on recently and highly rec them for your new s550 -- pretty easy to install -- got them on ebay from guy in germany (giorgios) for like 69 bucks --oem stuff -- i can get link for you if interested-- congrats on your new buy --i love this carcgj

They MORE than make up for it when someone trades in a car. Dealers never lose money. They just trick you into thinking they are your friend and are willing to lose money just so you can get that car you want.
This raises a big question to me. When a person loses $40K+ on a car in its first year of ownership, what happens to that money? Where did it go? Is MB making that much profit, is the dealer making that much profit, or is it just that the buyer is losing that money due to the falling value of cars in general? I would have to believe it is the latter of the three.
BTW, my car got a wholesale value of $85K last month. That's horrible. It only is 18 months old, only has 21K miles on it and I paid $145K for it. A loss of $60K in no time at all.
. Maybe next time you'll pay better attention to the great advice on the forumsNo way in hell you could get $14k off on a new specially ordered S550. I did enough research and called just about every high volume dealership before purchasing mine....
In the end I got $9000 off SRP and from talking to a few folks in S CA today, that's still a very good deal

You're basically saying that the 104k MSRP was all inclusive, which it wasn't.
Either way he has to pay the tax, so you have to compare apples with apples...
If you're saying you got 9k off your car (assuming it had an MSRP of 100k), are you actually saying that you got 14,000 off?? So you actually dropped the price to 86,000 and then added tax to get it around 91k after taxes? I highly doubt that. Although, if your car was a demo or dealer titled, then thats another story...
