Nothing major - mainly cosmetic: The 2008 S600 has:
(1) Slightly different style seats with vertical fluting/grooves. There is also a fluted pattern on the upper doors and along the roof Alcantara headliner. You can see these features in the last two pictures I posted some while back here:
https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...116&highlight=
(2) The rear armrest center control console has gained controls allowing the rear passengers to change radio channels/CD's and adjust volume.
(3) The 2008 S600 rear exhaust pipes are different and create ambivalent reactions amongst some here. (There are pictures further down the thread link above)
(4) Also (except for some early 2008 builds like mine) the 2008 models have replaced Park Assist with Park Guidance and should have blind spot assist in the mirrors as well.

I do not believe so. But if the point of your question is really "are the brakes good enough to stop the mass of the vehicle really quickly" then I have found them perfectly fitted for the task. The S600 brakes don't look as good as an S63/65 but outside of the higher demands of the track, I can't think of any conceivable street situation where the S600 brakes do not have enough performance and margin of safety. There was some discussion here a few months back that they are Bembro's.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Seriously, have immense respect for S/CL600/63/65s....but I tend to mock each of them for their various moronic ergonomic/cosmetic touches....
I still can't help but laugh whenever I see a $200K alleged perf kid-hauler like the S65 w/that codgerly, tacky quilted leather; wood steering wheel; and burl walnut.....or the CL63 030 w/its incredibly tacky, plasticky leather interior and plasticky sports steering wheel....
Hopefully, the AMG Perf Studios that are opening in US this yr will allow less price-conscious buyers to choose specific touches in terms of finer-grained (non-quilted) leather finishes, 030 wheels, leather sports steering wheels, cf interior trim, etc, so one does not have to tolerate such absurdly finished $150K+ discretionary commuter cars....

while still on the subject of '07 vs '08...
wc2: Congrats on the S65. Reference: "08 S600 you can use the phone pad for the radio hit the star button and enter in your station or use at presets for radio, sat radio and in 07 you couldnt use the phone pad but only to dial the phone." I have a 2007 CL 600 that had the telematics upgraded to 2008 standards and the phone pad can now access the radio/satellite like soon2bMB's mentions in above post. Remember that all 2007 S and CL vehicles can be upgraded to new '08 telematics with all the improvements (e.g. birds eye Nav, DVD viewing, etc.) so that is another reason NOT to overlook a well priced '07 in the resale market over a more expensive '08. All I seem to be missing from the later '08 in my '07 CL600 is Park Guidance and Blind Spot assist. Even early '08 had these two features missing. The interior details on the CL600 is the same for both years, unlike in the S class which was improved for '08. On the other hand, in the '07 we have a beautiful headlight washer switch in black by the light control cluster which is oddly missing in the '08 and makes the this portion of the otherwise wonderful dash look rather unbalanced (see '08 dash in attachment).
