Side marker light removal

Member #9555519 on eBay has the clear side marker lights for the S550 that I have ordered. The question now is how do you remove the side marker lights? I should be receiving the lights sometime this week.

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad it is easy. The real question is how do you do it?

Thanks in Advance,

pop the inner wheel well off in the front of the wheel well and thats it. turn you wheels inward on each side as you work on it so you have room.

we gotta see pics of this once you get it done. Maybe a guide on how to do it too? I think a lot S-class owners are looking for this. The yellow is so ugly!

Just put them on and what a difference; so much cleaner looking. I'll post pictures on Monday, since I left my camera in my office.
Installation is fairly easy. Turn you wheels to the inside to give yourself clearance. Turn the wheel all the way to the left when doing the passenger side and vice versa when doing the drriver's side. You will see 2 small buttons at the front of the wheel well. Pry out the small center button ( actually a pin) with a small screw diver and then do the same to the larger diameter button. You then will want to pull the fender liner out from the bumper. Start at the bottom and pull the liner toward you. Once this is done you will be able to feel and see the bulb socket. Turn the bulb counter clock wise and let it hang inside. There is a tab toward the back of the marker light; push it toward the front of the car and the push it out. The marker is held in place by a bracket. Once you have the back out hold the bracket from the inside of the bumper/fender and pull the marker to the back of the car. It takes a little force but not anything too difficult.
To install the new marker hold the bracket inside and line up the hooks on the front of the light to the openings on the bracket; slide the hooks into the slots, push the back of the marker into the slot on the bracket, from the inside push the tab toward the front of the car and at the same time push the marker into the bracket. You will hear a click and at that point the new marker is in place. Re-install the light, put the fender liner back in place, re-install the large button, then the small pin and you are finished.Maybe a 10 minute job on the first one and less than 5 on the second.

done! the key thing is "turn the bulb counter clock wise".

i was a little disappointed on the parts though (just a little). it's not bad quality, but you could tell it's not original and there were a couple of mold lines and burrs that should not have been there.

but the car does look better!

Thanks Lou!
