Yes for the 2010 model year in the U.S. there will be a facelift for the S, CL, R and GL too. Along with a new E-Class and CLK.

Will it be a big change like the 2006 s-class to the 2007 s-class, or will they just change a little here and there?

You mean from the US 2006 S-class, or from W220 to W221? That was not a face lift but a model generation change. There are already some spy photos about the changes. The usual stuff, the front bumper etc.

as for 09 is the body the same?? Any changes at all?? even minor??

What do you count as body parts? The shell certainly 100% the same. The new mirrors we may have seen already, the detachable body parts like front/rear bumpers and the side skirts often get some new shape at face lift, see what happened for the W211 some time ago (well, the W211 had relatively big invisible changes when SBC brakes were changed to "modern traditional ones").

The MMC for the S class should be 2010 and not 2009. This includes new mirrors, and other cosmetic changes more than anything and maybe some new electronic gizmos here and there.

The changes are so minimal. apperence is the same for 09.
In Canada the S600 and S65 AMG now get Tecnology pack standard which includes...
1)Distronic plus
2)Park assist
3)Night view assist
4)Blind spot monitoring


for all S class the following are the standard changes.
1)All 19" wheels get all season tires
2)Push, pull replaces push, push for windows.
3)Shift paddles replace shift buttons
4)Pano roof and rear sunshade now get one touch closing
5)Tunnel climate control is deleted
6)And finally 12 V power in trunk

I know the US cars are different but still the chages should be very minimal with no body changes.

Whats with the new dual foglight look? Even the new W212 has that. Perhaps one is going to be use as DRL as in the new Acuras.

Other than that, new corporate side mirrors are going in. Looks pretty much the same though.

Im Herbst 2009 kommt das S-Klasse Facelift auf den Markt. Die Assistenzsysteme werden erweitert. Unter anderem wird der Totwinkelassistent um einen Spurassistenten erweitert. Zudem soll das Comand Display so geändert werden, dass der Beifahrer TV oder DVD gucken kann und vom Fahrer aus, im gleichen Display die Navigationskarte angezeigt wird. Des Weiteren soll auch das Nachtsichtgerät in einer zweiten Generation ausgeliefert werden. Ansonsten gibt es eine neue Front- und Heckschürze mit integrierten Endrohren sowie eine neue Frontscheinwerfergrafik mit LED-Blinker. Der Kühlergrill erhält zudem eine markante Spitze. The interesting bits to me area the blind spot assist being updated to cover "lane assist" feature too. Now how could that work unless they added cameras to the car that watch the white lines?

Then the option allowing the front passenger to watch TV/DVD, could that be when the display is turned towards the passenger, making it not possible for the driver to see the Comand display or is it still not shown in motion, just that the navi map display can be shown at the IC monitor too, making Comand free for other tasks (but does it make any sense if it only works at slow speed).

The Night View feature is brought to second generation but there are no details about the actual changes.
