I like the new tailpipes, the new grille design with the E class edginess at the bottom, and the new larger rear view mirrors were a must. Looks like they added a side marker. Can't wait to see interior as I wonder if they chromed the door sills yet.

It looks okay, IMO when M-B designs a perfectly in-sync car stylistically, they seem to try and change things just for the sake of changing them. I kinda like the older mirrors design-wise, and the tails look cool, but they look exactly like the 00-06 era Benzes with the 2 white stripes (save for the painted stripes of course). I always loved that look and thought it was a great "calling card" and was bummed when they stopped using them, but I do kind of like the current lights better as they separate the W221 from the other models better.
The Grille's alright, not too much a difference it seems, just added a point to the bottom, comes down to subtle preference I guess.

But the question was about the face lift, this confirms that it isn't much more than the bumpers and front lights slightly changed, and the mirrors of course.

Honestly I don't see a resemblance at all, and I used to own an '05 Maxima. I think they started being sold in '03?
I always make the joke that the W221 looks like a new Camry, and I honestly think the resemblance is pretty damn close between those two. I used to hate Camry's and now that they remind me of a W221, I'm in love with their new Body style.

The new Hyundai Genesis is what looks like a little bit of everything out there!!! Have you guys seen that?
It looks like the S class from the straight on view of the front; looks like the Lexus LS from the side; and looks like a BMW /Lexus at the rear.

Wow, that's just rediculous!! They copied everything!! Poor 5-Series looks like everything from an Accord to a Genesis, and it wasn't even too nice to begin with.

Anybody else extremely intrigued by the addition of LED running lights? I saw a new Audi coupe on the road yesterday with the LEDs along the bottom of the headlights--VERY impressive looking! I could see the car coming from miles away through my rear view mirror... I hope the feature makes it into the CL as well as I intend to make the switch in 2010 after the refresh.

Saw an Audi S8 running behind me in traffic today, the LED fronts were a complete standout, stole the show to the point I was staring at the rearview mirror. As I make [what we here call a Michigan turn) to the left, so does the guy in the S8. Funniest thing, he was in turn staring at my car, particularly at the v12 sign behind the wheel. The detailing of the S8 though, particularly those lights, left me feeling plain. Thus, I look forward to these LEDs becoming the norm.
