695 hp renntech vs 730 hp brabus
OK
I realy like to know whose gonna come out victorious .
695hp s65 renntech with 890 p/f of torque or the one from brabus that i know is much more expensive and has 730 hp but less torque of 811
( although redused drom 960) . im planning to get the renntech on my used 08 s65 that i got 3 months ago for a bargain ( 160 k) and ship it down to florida .full engine upgrade should cost around 40 k .

I did some Renntech upgrades but wouldn't do it again. You already have a beast "as is" so why waste the money? Just from my experience, unless you just have money to burn, I would leave your car alone.

I just dont like renntech much. Tried their products before I dont feel nothing. Maybe is just me or I got ripped off. I didnt dyno it after all the mods.
Anyways good luck with the car and upgrades.

The biggest gain in doing Renntech ECU upgrade on non AMG car would be just to remove the 130 mph speed limiter. That'll probably explain why you dont feel the difference.

I did a Renntech tune on my 2007 S600 and love it. I just wish they could figure out how to change the top end on the speedo to read higher. Mercedes sets it at 160. Not that I have driven that fast yet ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

Funny you should say that. I too have a 160 mph readout, but I wondered tonight if I opened my beast up (now don't kinky on me here), what would the digital readout do once I exceeded the 160 analog gauge limit? Would the digital readout override and go beyond what the analog readout shows? Again, I can't see me doing that kind of speed anywhere where I live , but I did think of this.

I forgot to mention, the only thing that was a downside to going with Renntech (at least with me) , was that I have to keep my transmission setting set on "S" mode because if I put it in "C" mode, the tranny shifts harshly coming out of 2nd on a few occasions especially first thing after leaving the house in the morning and leaving work in the afternoon. Over a year ago I decided to just leave it in S mode and it has done GREAT since.
The only downside to leaving it in S mode is that the car won't hold well on an uphill situation like if your waiting on a traffic light change or something.

That's what I thought but it works right the opposite for me. Even as my car drifts backwards on a subtle hill, I can press the button and put it back on C mode and suddenly the car stops rolling back. I'm positive about my observations. Is mine working differently than everyone else's car?
Actually , Renntech said that my car was supposed to have the "M" mode available after the upgrade but it never did. I really don't care about that anyway. Just a point I thought about just now.
Overall, I'm pleased with my Renntech upgrade but if I had to do it over again, I probably would have just kept the money in my pocket. Buying tires is becoming a major expense for me that I didn't expect to occur so often. I've now had to buy my 3rd set of tires for the rear!
