Software Update

Hello, can anyone give me some advice as to what to tell the dealer in order for them to update the software to the latest version? I have a 2007 S550 and it's never had any updates. I searched around this forum and it looks as though there have been some improvements etc. but I'm not sure if the dealer will just update it if I ask.

So, do you think telling them that the COMMAND System crashes once in a while will do it?

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Is your point finding if you already have the latest SW or are you after arguments to convince your dealer doing the update (for free)?

The main update would be apparent from the availability of bird's eye navigation view, or DVD video for US cars. If these are not present, I would not mind if the dealer makes the update free or not, just make it clear you want the latest COMAND SW and they should be able to do it.

Thanks to Dan I just got my car back from the dealer and they updated the software. Now I can watch a video (only while the car is parked) and there is also a traffic option but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Rick, do a search on this forum and you'll find out that you need the nav update 7.0 before the traffic function will activate (you'll love this feature)

Birds Eye View and ETA

Hey guys,

So I now have the updated software which has the video, traffic, preset search on the steering wheel, etc. but I don't see how to switch to birds eye view or where the estimated time of arrival is.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Rick

Did you get the "user manual amendment"? Dealers should print that after the SW update.

I've already posted this before and cannot attach here, can be found from this previous thread:

If it was English, that would be great. When I get my update I will make sure I receive the user manual.

It says "alle Sprachen". It isn't exactly that but it does include English. Perhaps you are surprised about the fact that English isn't first on their list.

11 different languages included.

I should have stated that I made ANOTHER mistake. It's great that we have forum members like yourself that help out members like me. LOL.
